It's so hard to find a good clean romance novel, but this fits the bill! Not only did it fulfill my want for romance, but kept me on the edge of my seat. I can't wait to get my hands on the other books in the series. I also love the design of the book. It was easy to hold and has a soft matte cover. There's a quote at the beginning of each chapter and I appreciated that bit of extra thought and insight. I highly recommend this book!

This author brings something to the table that most regency writers don't. Her stories are smart - with wonderful references to real history, culture and locations, and they're classy, but they don't miss the tension and heat. It's always appropriate, but the tension is so good! Her characters have depth and quirks that make you love them immediately and the stories pull you in and don' t let go until. the. last. minute. I love this story with is secrets and reveals and the evil lurking somewhere but you just don't know where! So enjoyable to read. Thank you Gigi for keeping me up so late!

I can’t even express how much I loved this book. Sidonie was a feisty, well-written heroine who manages to be both demure and powerful. I love that we see how the world perceives her, and then how vastly different that is to how she sees herself. It’s refreshing to read a romance that takes its time and makes you want more—the romantic tension was excellent. And her romantic lead was *chef’s kiss*. If you’re looking for a clean, well-written romance, BUY THIS BOOK.

Having enjoyed other period dramas I had to read the book. It did not disappoint.
This was a quick read and a great introduction to the authors talent. I stayed intrigued to the end. I can hardly wait to read the rest of the series and then see what GiGi Lynn writes next.
